In Qingdao. The home of TsingTao beer, didn’t get to the brewery but wandered around both the new and old towns.

The old town is full of German architecture from the days when it was full of German traders. We tried to make a afternoon trip to Laoshan mountain, just to pop up and down in the cable car however the Lonely Planet neglected to mention that during winter it doesn’t run. We got a nice long walk out of it though.

The hostel we stayed in was very cool, it’s converted from China’s first contemporary observatory.
